Limited Edition Fine Art Photography by Brad Rickerby - Skyline Hong Kong

Hong Kong Harbor at Dusk

My favorite city to photograph in the world is Hong Kong. I may have said this before, but I am in love with Hong Kong. It offers an entirely different visual aesthetic from western cities, yet it is incredibly easy to navigate and I have always felt completely safe there. If you are making a photographic trip to Hong Kong, drop me a line and I will tell you some great spot to get images, including this one (brad@bradrickerby.com)

This spot is rather well know and on any given evening you will have some company taking pictures. This is a time exposure with a 200 mm lens. There is a lot to shot at this location, so take your time and try not to go for the obvious. This image is focused to the left a bit more than most so that you put more of Kowloon in the background. The harbor is a bit cut off, but every one else shooting is focusing on the harbor. If you are shooting for stock, get here before dusk and spend some time capturing all the congestion of the buildings that are closer to you than the cityscape. Also, be aware, if you are shooting for stock you are going to have to remove some of the logos and names on the buildings.
