This is one of my original portfolio images that landed me a contract with Tony Stone, at the time the best stock photo agency in the world.
I was seduced by the lights of Hong Kong. There is no question of that. I wanted to show Hong Kong for the dynamic, vibrant exciting city that I have come to love. The lights let me do that. This image was taken at the base of Nathan Road, back before Nathan Road became a western shopping mall. This view is no longer available, although you can head north a ways and get something similar to it. Kowloon Buses is created with a 200 mm lens set on a tripod. The setting was roughly a 1/4 second and it was shot with film (Velvia 50).
