Fine Art Color Urban Photograph by Brad Rickerby - California San Francisco

Bay Bridge, San Francisco, California

San Francisco is a city that has a huge amount to offer the photographer. So much so that a book has been written about photographic locations for photographers. Personally, I love the bridges. The Golden Gate is the icon, of course, but the Bay Bridge is just as photogenic.

This image was created just at dusk. The purplish tone is a result of the actual light, it was not created in photoshop. This photograph was very straight forward in the making. I used a 300 mm f 2.8 lens mounted on a tripod. The aperture was set at f 8, giving a several second shutter speed. The composition was key to this image, with the office buildings narrowing your focus and leading your eye to the bridge, which is the star of the photo.

I plan on returning to San Francisco often.
