Double decker buses, London, England
This was an amazing evening. I had found a main street that was just swarming with double decker buses. Flaming red themselves, they reflected the green lights from the street lamps and the orange glow from the last remains of the sunset. They were everywhere. Backed up bus after bus after bus. And, importantly, they are an icon of London that sell really well. I tried to personalize this forever photographed image. My thought was to shoot at a slow shutter speed just as the front bus started moving for a green light. That way the forward bus is a red light reflecting blur and the focus of the image goes to the second, not yet moving bus. I was hand holding shooting film (I was trying a Kodak brand this evening) using a 70 - 210 mm lens at 210 mm. I climbed a lamp post to get a little height and braced against that post to steady the camera. I was shooting at around f 11 at 1 second.
The buses kept flying by every which way until full darkness descended and I stopped shooting.
